Eklavya Cuts the Head of DronaCharya

"Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu Guru Devo Maheswara;Gurur Sakshat Para Brahma Thasmai Sri Gurave Namaha Have we heard of this somewhere. This was my Sloka in my Sanskrit book when I was in my class VI or VII, though i dont remember this exactly. How many of us have really respected their teachers and how many teachers have really respected their students. People will obviously be amazed as to why do we want the Teachers to Respect their Students? Well today a teacher would argue that its tough to get a student life Eklavya.Eklavya ! Who is this Dude? Ok let me take you back thousand of eras back . I dont know how many of you have heard of Mahabharata,a small introduction though is sufficient : "The Mahābhārata (Devanagari: महाभारत), is one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India, the other being the Rāmāyana. With more than 74,000 verses, plus long prose passages, or some 1.8 million words in total, it is the longest epic poems in the world." - source Wiki. There was a battle fought between the brothers, some justify it as a Battle Between Right and Wrong, and I would justify it as a Battle of Royalty and Kingdom. The two brothers were known as Pandavas and Kauravas, both taught by the greatest Guru (some over speculate this ) , Dronacharya . Eklavya, at that time was from the Lower class (mind you there were no reservations at that time for Backward Class ) , and being from a lower class he was refused to be taught by this famous Guru , and he somehow learned from him though unknown , again as mentioned in this famous Epic, all the learnings were from behind a tree, and since he confessed being taught by Dronacharya himself, dronacharya , asked for his Thumb as a part of GuruDakshina.Eklavya without hesitation cut his thumb.Eklavya at this time knew that without his thumb he can never use Bow and Arrow, and this was the thing which he had mastered, but it was all because of this Guru Request he without hesitation cut away his thumb.Ok , so that was more than an introduction.Coming back to the point , so teachers argue , that its tough to get a student like eklavya , and students argue that there are always thousand of teachers who are ready to ask for a thumb , or are ready to stand against their favourite pupil , for the loyalty to another , maybe greed or whatever. Though dont want to get much into it again , Arjuna was a Pandava, favourite student of Dronacharya, and Dronacharya fought against the Pandavas. Amazing isnt it ! I find it absurd. All these things are bygone days. Bygone days why ? People give various examples, of the past , mentioning that , students have always worshipped the Guru.Even i have mentioned about the same, but then again what about Pandavas killing Dronacharya, and even the hindu worshipped God, Krishna was behind them . So where did the things go wrong? Few days back , I was turning the pages of a Newspaper and saw a column where it was mentioned about few students manhandling few professors, and this resulting in the death of a professor.Yes , I am talking about , Prof H S Sabharwal, who died in Ujjain last week after being allegedly attacked by students. Is this more of a Student-Guru relation which people speculate or is it the play of the Power. This is though a debatable topic, I would definitely tild towards the play of Power here."
Well this is all I wrote a way back . And what is happening now ? Nothing. Where is the Media ? What about the people who were accused ?
